On the last day of our trip we got up early, ate breakfast, and cleaned the entire facility. It looked squeaky clean. We all kinda gathered out front of the station and each student had the chance to talk about their favorite experience from the trip. Mine was the hiking. It was so tough and more advanced then I had ever done but I loved it! We all said our goodbyes, piled into the vehicles and headed back. This trip was so much fun and it was so nice to get out and learn more about this amazing park. Thanks Linda for the opportunity. You're great!!
The second day we got up to eat some yummy breakfast and then headed out to do some more hiking. We got to check out lots of cool historical spots. The scenery of course was amazing and beautiful. The hiking was very challenging but it was great! There were some points were I wasn't sure I was going to make it. Ha Ha, but I did and it felt great. We packed our lunches out and it felt so good to just sit on the rocks, visit, eat, and enjoy the sun shining on our faces. We were so beat after all the hiking that after dinner everyone pretty much crashed :) I hope to have the chance to visit this park again soon.
Captol Reef-1st day
The first day of the trip was so much fun. When we arrived at the park we first stopped at the visitors center and watched a film. After that we ate some lunch and headed out for a hike. A very "advanced" hike which was so much fun and gave me a sense of accomplishment. The scenery was beautiful despite all the snow. In fact, while we were waiting for everyone to meet back at the car, snow came whipping in out of no where, we could no longer see the mountain we had just hiked. It was so cool. We drove into the field station as far as he could and then hiked our belongs up a hill through the snow the rest of the way. I didn't think I was going to make it :). Hau gave us a tour of the station, went over some rules, and covered the concepts of "leave no trace." After great food and many brownies, we played games. HAHA. I will never forget "bucket of nouns." We had a GREAT time! I am so glad we got to experience this.
